BaroWatch — Help, questions, feedback
Contact
For questions, issues or feedback, please write to:
In the iPhone or iPad app, the envelope icon at the top of Help (question-mark icon) opens an email to this address.
Sending diagnostics
In the iPhone or iPad app, tap the gear icon (Settings) and, in the Diagnostics section, Send diagnostics. The share sheet opens and you choose where the file goes.
The diagnostics file contains the device model, operating system and app version, the permission states, the settings, sensor and altitude state, storage and sync status, the diagnostics log of iPhone and Watch, and the latest readings — no coordinates and not the sync code. It helps to trace a measurement or sync error. For a simple question, the email without a file is enough. Details are in the privacy policy.
Without diagnostics
Please include:
- App version (iPhone/iPad: Help via the question-mark icon, at the top; Apple Watch: Settings, at the very bottom)
- iOS or watchOS version
- Device model (e.g. iPhone 15 Pro, Apple Watch Series 9)
- A short description of the issue or question
Frequently asked questions
Why does my iPhone show no pressure?
Not every device has a barometer sensor. Without a sensor, the app shows the readings transmitted from the paired iPad or from Apple Watch. If no value is shown despite a sensor, check under Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness that “Fitness Tracking” and BaroWatch are turned on.
What is the difference between QFE and QNH?
QFE is the measured station pressure at your current location. QNH is converted to sea level — so it is comparable with weather reports and independent of your current altitude. The conversion uses the GPS altitude or a fixed altitude you enter; an estimated altitude is marked with “≈”.
How do I pair iPhone and iPad?
Both devices must be on the same network or within Bluetooth range. Under Settings → Device Pairing, each device shows its 6-digit sync code. Enter the code of one device on the other and tap “Apply”.
Why does Apple Watch show a different pressure value than iPhone?
You set the display (QFE or QNH) separately on each device. If they are set differently, or if the devices calculate with different altitudes, the values differ. Small differences also arise from the position of the sensors (wrist or trouser pocket).
